Are you tired of living in survival mode?

it's free!
Let's get back to focusing on what really matters.

WE HAVE AN EPIDEMIC OF BURNED OUT PROFESSIONAL MOMS AND DADS

  • You’re working as hard as you can, yet you still feel empty and out of control.
  • You spend way more time on trivial matters than you do on the things that fill you with joy.
  • You worry that you’re missing your kids’ fleeting childhood years.
  • Your marriage is suffering because you’re both too distracted and over-committed to prioritize your relationship.
  • Your health is failing (both mentally and physically) because you never have enough time to put your own needs first (you’ll get to it later!).
  • Your life has become a never-ending cycle of obligations, excessive expectations, and constant DOING… with moments of happiness peppered in here and there.

IF THIS DESCRIBES YOUR EXPERIENCE AS A WORKING PARENT, YOU’RE INVITED TO JOIN ME FOR A FREE CHALLENGE IN 2018

This is a different experience than you’ll see anywhere else out there.

The Deliberate Life Challenge is a series of 12 monthly challenges that will take place over the course of the year. Each month we will focus on improving one of these foundational areas of your life.

IT’S TIME TO TAKE YOUR LIFE BACK

Through 20 years of experience in fields such as psychotherapy, coaching, consulting, education and project management, I’ve learned that the only way to overcome burnout for good is to manage your life as a whole.

You can’t just work on one tiny area of your life while ignoring the others and expect to solve the problem. You’re a whole human being with a full and integrated life. Everything works together.

HERE’S THE TRUTH THAT’S SO HARD TO ADMIT

Most of the time management tools and productivity hacks you’re obsessed with are really just distractions disguised as solutions.

The truth is that burnout isn’t even about time management at all.

That’s just a symptom of a bigger problem.

Here’s the reality: until you start to make conscious choices in all areas of your life, and follow through with consistent action over time, you’re going to stay stuck in overwhelm.

Your exhaustion and stress will continue to build, and one day you’ll look back and realize you spent many of the most precious years of your life in survival mode.

I don’t want that to happen to you.

I'M IN!

THIS IS AN ALTERNATIVE TO ALL OF THE “QUICK FIXES” OUT THERE

This isn’t a short 5-day taste of what your life could be. This is an extended challenge that focuses on simplifying and refining how you operate in the most important areas of your life.

Long-term transformation is overwhelming. It feels HUGE.

And when you’re already struggling to get through the day, you can’t imagine taking on even one more thing. But that just guarantees the pattern of burnout will continue.

The Deliberate Life Challenge is for anyone who has had it with the status quo and is ready to take action to put their family and their mental well-being ahead of the chaos and stress… and are just looking for a system they can maintain while managing the rest of their lives.

YES, PLEASE!

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS

Every month you’ll focus on one specific area of your life and nail it. You’ll take stock of your life in that area only. You’ll shut out the rest (for the moment) and focus on building new skills and habits in that area of your life.

You’ll clear out the clutter – mentally, emotionally and environmentally.

You’ll simplify everywhere you can.

You’ll become more engaged and present in everything you do.

You’ll make small adjustments and improvements in a way that doesn’t feel overwhelming or burdensome. Just little tweaks that will add up over the days, weeks and months.

In the end, you’ll become very DELIBERATE in that area of your life before moving on to the next. Focusing on one thing at a time, in a deep way, will infuse your life with more control, freedom and peace… without having to sacrifice what’s most important to you along the way.

FAQ’s

Here are some of the questions you may have before you decide to join.

DO I HAVE TO COMMIT TO THE ENTIRE YEAR?

Nope! You can participate every month if you want to. Or you can pick and choose to participate only in the areas you need the most help with. It’s totally up to you. BUT. I will encourage you to be intentional about your commitments. If you decide to sign up for a particular month, stick with it the entire month so you can get solid results.

WHAT DOES EACH MONTHLY CHALLENGE INVOLVE?

On the first day of each month throughout 2018, you’ll receive a single-page checklist that includes:

  • A few Key Resources you can watch, read or check out to increase your foundation of understanding in that area;
  • Targeted Self-Reflection Prompts to help uncover internal and external blocks, motivations and strengths; and
  • A list of Small Wins you can complete in 5-15 minutes if you don’t have a ton of time but want to take action.
  • A handful of Big Leap activities that may take a little longer and/or require you to dig a little deeper to create major shifts in your life.

You’ll be encouraged to pick one item to do at a time, and finish that item before you start on any others.

You get to choose what you do based on what sounds inspiring (or even just doable) for you at that point. You can choose just 1 thing each month, or a handful of things, or all of them if you’re super-motivated.

The more you check off, the better. But every little thing you do will make a difference.

We’ll focus on progress, not perfection.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WORK ON THE CHECKLIST?

You get to make progress on the checklist items over the course of that month. Take action when it works for your schedule. Integrate these new action steps into your life in a way that makes sense for you.

But once the month is over we’ll be moving on to a new topic, so there’s a deadline to keep you focused and motivated.

WILL THERE BE GROUP SUPPORT?

Potentially. I’ve done a number of challenges myself in the past, and I’ve noticed a few things about the community aspect of challenges:

1 | Most people who get measurable results and achieve their goals don’t spend a bunch of time communicating about the actions they’re planning to take. They just friggin’ DO IT.

2 | Community forums like Facebook groups tend to create more of a distraction than motivation. It’s much easier to scroll through social media and chat all about the changes you’ll make than it is to do new (and at times uncomfortable) things. Since I want to support you in clearing the clutter in your world and encourage you to take action, I’m wary about requiring activity in a forum where you’ll be distracted.

3 | I do think having an accountability partner (or a few) who are personally invested in your progress is a great idea. I’ll be happy to coordinate accountability partnerships between members, or you can choose people in your personal network to check in with.

I may create a temporary place for members to communicate with each other just so you can support each other. I’ll wait to see how much of a demand there is for it each month and go from there. No matter what, I’ll be doing the challenge right alongside you, so I’ll be there for you. The bottom line is that this challenge is a personal challenge designed to help you get results in your unique life.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHAT’S GOING ON?

All of my official communication and updates about the challenge will be sent via email. I do have a few little surprises up my sleeve so we can connect in real-time frequently too. The focus will be on your growth without the distractions.

WHAT’S THE CATCH? WHY IS THIS FREE?

Well, a few reasons:

1 | I see a lot of really good, hardworking parents struggling to stay afloat in an increasingly busy world. All you want to do is make an honest living, spend quality time with your family and enjoy the process along the way. I have a unique constellation of skills, experiences and expertise to help you create that for yourself, so I want to put that out there in the world.

2 | I work one-on-one with a small handful of people who feel a need to dive deep into building a deliberate life. This challenge is a good opportunity for you to discover whether you want to be one of the people I work with on a more personal basis. And if not, that’s fine! You’ll still get results.

3 | The other reason is because I’m going to work on all of these areas in my life anyway. As a busy working mom myself, I feel the need to clear the clutter, get organized, let go of what’s no longer necessary in my life, and pay more attention to what really matters. I’ll be tracking my progress and would love to have some cool people along on the journey with me.

Maybe someday I will charge for this experience (who knows how things will evolve… this is an experiment!), but for now I don’t see the need.
